How to Apply for eKalyan Scholarship 2026 Online — Step by Step
eKalyan Scholarship 2026: How to apply on ekalyan.cgg.gov.in (Eligibility → Registration/Login → Scheme Selection & Application)
1
Go to the Official PortalOpen ekalyan.cgg.gov.in in your browser. Do not use any .com website or agent — only the .gov.in domain is official.
2
New User? Register FirstClick Student Registration. Enter your Aadhaar number, name, and DOB exactly as on your Aadhaar — no special characters. You will receive a User ID and Password on your mobile/email.
3
Login to Your AccountUse your User ID and Password to login. Returning students go directly to Student Login with existing credentials.
4
Select Fresh or Renewal — Read CarefullyFresh = First time applying for this course. Renewal = Already received scholarship last year for the same course. Selecting the wrong option is one of the biggest rejection reasons.
5
Fill the Application FormEnter all details carefully. Cross-check every field against your original certificates — name spelling, income figure, caste details. Any mismatch causes rejection at INO level.
6
Upload DocumentsUpload scanned copies in the correct fields. Each file must be under 150 KB. Wrong document in the wrong slot = defective application — rejection is automatic.
7
Submit + OTP VerificationClick Final Submit and complete OTP verification. Take a printout of the submitted form and keep it safe for college records.
8
Save Your Application IDNote your Application ID immediately after submission. You will need it for status checks, INO follow-up, and future renewals.
🏦 About Bank Account Details in the Form
For Jharkhand Post-Matric, you do NOT need to enter bank account number or IFSC code anywhere in the form. The scholarship is automatically transferred to your Aadhaar-linked bank account via ABPS. Just ensure your Aadhaar is properly seeded with your bank before applying.
What Happens After You Apply? (4-Stage Verification)
After submission, your application goes through a 4-level verification. Seeing “Pending” status for weeks is completely normal — it’s just the pipeline. If stuck at Stage 1 for 3+ weeks, follow up with your college’s nodal officer directly.
🏫
Stage 1: INO
College Nodal Officer verifies your docs & details
🗂️
Stage 2: DNO
District Nodal Officer reviews at district level
📋
Stage 3: DLC
District Level Committee gives final approval by 31 March 2026
💳
Stage 4: AA
Account Approving Officer — payment released via ABPS
Payment Status — Why Is Money Not Coming Even After Approval?
🚨 #1 Reason — Aadhaar Not Linked to Bank (ABPS Issue)
Your application may be fully approved at DLC/AA level, but the amount will not be credited if your Aadhaar is not properly seeded/mapped with your bank account.Fix: Visit your bank branch with Aadhaar card → request “Aadhaar seeding” or “ABPS linking” → re-check Aadhaar-bank mapper status on portal → then track payment on PFMS (pfms.nic.in).
Top Rejection Reasons & How to Avoid Them
❌ Details Mismatch
Name, Aadhaar number, income, or caste in the form doesn’t match your uploaded certificate. Always copy details directly from original documents.
❌ Blurry or Wrong Document Uploaded
Unreadable scan or wrong file in the wrong upload slot. Keep files clear, under 150 KB, and double-check every slot before final submit.
❌ College Not Showing on Portal
Your college is not registered or approval is pending (especially outside-state colleges). Contact your college administration to get registered on the portal first.
❌ Fresh Instead of Renewal (or Vice Versa)
If you received this scholarship last year for the same course, you must select Renewal — not Fresh. Selecting Fresh incorrectly flags your application as duplicate/invalid.
❌ Aadhaar Not Linked to Bank
Application gets fully approved but payment fails due to ABPS issue. This is the #1 cause of “approved but no money received” complaints.
❌ Applying After the Deadline
Students miss the real deadline because they relied on outdated info from WhatsApp or unofficial sites. Always verify dates on the official Notices page — not social media.
⚠️ Scam Alert — Read Before Sharing Anything
🔒Use only the official domain: ekalyan.cgg.gov.in (ends in .gov.in). Any .com or .in website asking for money or your OTP is a scam — close it immediately.
📵No government helpdesk will ever ask for your OTP, login password, or bank PIN. If anyone asks — it is fraud, period.
💰There is zero application fee for e-Kalyan. Anyone asking for ₹200–₹500 to “release your payment” or “approve your form” is scamming you. Apply only via the official portal or government CSC.
🚨If you already shared OTP or bank details: Call your bank immediatelyto block transactions → change portal password → report on Cybercrime Helpline 1930 or cybercrime.gov.in

Permanent residents of Jharkhand from ST, SC, or BC categories with annual family income not exceeding ₹2,50,000 are eligible. Students must be enrolled in Post-Matric courses — Class 11 and above including Diploma, UG, PG, ITI, Medical, and PhD.
Do I need to enter bank account number in the eKalyan form?
No. For Jharkhand Post-Matric scholarship, you do NOT need to enter bank account number or IFSC code. Payment is automatically transferred to your Aadhaar-linked bank account through ABPS. Just ensure your Aadhaar is properly seeded with your bank beforehand.
How do I check eKalyan scholarship status online?
Login to ekalyan.cgg.gov.in → click Application Status → select academic year 2025–26 → view your current status. You can also use the direct status page at ekalyan.cgg.gov.in/studApplStatus.htm without logging in, using your Application ID.
Scholarship was approved but money not received — what to do?
The most common reason is Aadhaar not linked/seeded with your bank (ABPS issue). Visit your bank branch with Aadhaar card and request “Aadhaar seeding”. After that re-check your Aadhaar-bank mapper status on the portal. Also track payment on PFMS at pfms.nic.in.
What is Fresh vs Renewal in eKalyan?
Fresh = applying for the first time for your current course on the portal. Renewal = you already applied and received scholarship in a previous year for the same course and are now continuing in the next year of that course. Selecting the wrong option causes delays or rejection.
Can I apply if I study outside Jharkhand?
Yes, if you are a permanent resident (domicile) of Jharkhand. Apply under the “Post-Matric Outside State” scheme. However, your outside-state college must be registered and approved on the e-Kalyan portal. If it doesn’t appear in the dropdown, contact your college administration first.
My status shows “Pending at INO” for weeks — is this normal?
Yes, it’s normal — INO verification takes time. But if it has been more than 2–3 weeks, visit your college and follow up with the Institution Nodal Officer directly. They are responsible for Stage 1 verification and can check why it’s stuck.
Is eKalyan scholarship available for General category students?
No. The Jharkhand e-Kalyan Post-Matric Scholarship is only for ST, SC, and BC category students as per the official eligibility page. General category students are not eligible for this particular scheme.
